August 2008: Work Experience, a new programme from Modern Toss, animated by LSM, was screened on E4 as part of their Interactive Comedy Festival.

Three FellasThe LSM team worked closely with Jon and Mick from Modern Toss and took just over a month to complete the 12-minute pilot. Most of the animation is 2D, with some integrated 3D sequences, and the various layers were composited together by LSM before delivery.

Work Experience received a 5-Star review in the Times on 15th August 2008.


August 2008: LSM has produced an animated 3D sequence in HD, for a British feature film about the death of Sid Vicious's girlfriend, Nancy Spungen.

Brighton Internship Programme

June 2008: LSM is once again participating in the Brighton Internship Programme, operated by Wired Sussex.


June 2008: A specially-commissioned animation by LSM was featured at the one-off Three Fellas comedy event in Liverpool on 14th June.

Three FellasThe 3-minute piece, comprising highlights of Liverpool's history from the time of the first Irish immigrants, was projected onto a big screen to open the event, and repeated during the interval.

The animation was painstakingly created from dozens of drawings, all intricately detailed in the style of the Book of Kells. Many of these images were also used in supporting material for the event. A number of Liverpool landmarks featured in the piece, along with cameo appearances by comedians Ardal O'Hanlan, Dylan Moran, Tommy Tiernan and host, John Bishop.

A short, viral trailer for the Three Fellas event was also produced by LSM.


May 2008: LSM delivers TV and web versions of a commercial for Bauer Consumer Media, promoting Bauer's Eyevibe mobile video service.

Eyevibe commercial by LSMAs well as its core animation skills, the piece required LSM to employ video capture and green screen techniques. The main TV commercial was then distilled by LSM into a special bandwidth-limited, rich media asset for online advertising.

Bauer's Eyevibe marketing manager, Ben Cordle, was very pleased with the results, saying, "LSM was able to deliver just what we wanted, within the budget. It looks great!".


May 2008: A short film made by LSM for the straight 8 event has been selected for screening at the 2008 Festival de Cannes.

Robot by Matthew Keen Robot will premiere at the festival on May 22nd and its director, Matthew Keen, said, 'I'm thrilled that our entry has been chosen and I look forward to finally seeing the film for the first time!' LSM chief, David Curry, praised the effort, saying, 'It's fantastic that the hard work and committment of Matt and his cast and crew have been rewarded. We're very proud of this achievement and it's a testimony to the talent and versatility of the whole LSM team'.

Robot will feature in further straight 8 screenings later this year in London and Brighton.


February 2008: LSM produces three commercials for broadcast on UK digital channel, Teachers TV.


January 2008: Series 2 of Modern Toss is screened on Channel 4 TV in the UK, featuring a number of animated sketches produced by LSM.


October 2007: O2 commissions LSM to produce viral video for its If An Alien Came To Earth interactive comedy show. Joe Haselden (O2 Content Manager) commented, 'We were delighted with LSM's efficient response to our brief, and their rapid delivery'. David Curry of LSM: 'We're thrilled to develop our continuing relationship with the comedy content team at O2'.


Totally Viral

August 2007: LSM comedy clips will once again be featured in the TV show Totally Viral on UKTV G2.


January 2007: LSM launches a new TV campaign for its Comic Clips brand. The promotion was once again planned and created in-house, and ran on MTV, VH1 and Paramount Comedy Channel.


December 2006: LSM founder David Curry spoke at the Wireless Developer Forum conference in Cambridge, as part of the VCR Investment Day event. Event chairman, Modweena Rees-Mogg of the VCR Directory and Angel News said afterwards, "LSM is deadly seriously excellent – we need more companies like this in the UK".


November 2006: LSM is one of six companies presenting its products and business plans at the Digital Hollywood Europe conference on November 30th, as part of the Venture, Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Consortium.

Digital Hollywood

Digital Hollywood Europe, the global conference for the entertainment, media and technology economies, is in London for the first time between November 29th and December 1st, 2006. This annual and world leading conference will be hosted by a consortium of UK Government and Media Agencies, brought together by the South East Media Network.

November 2006: LSM comedy clips to be included in the TV show Totally Viral, which launches on UKTV G2 on 27th Nov 2006.
